There is a South West Regional Grading that takes place in early autumn each year.  The date of the next grading is Sunday 2^nd October 2011.  The grading is for 3^rd Kyu Juniors and Seniors and above, up to and including 1^st Kyu.  This event has been organised jointly by Avon Area BJC and Somerset Area BJC.

The venue for this grading is 

                The Blake Science College

                Hamp Avenue, Bridgewater, Somerset TA6 6AW

The timings are

                Juniors Green Belts (under 16) – 10.00 am

                Seniors up to 3^rd Kyu 11.30 am

                Seniors 2^nd and 1^st Kyu 2.00 pm

The cost for this grading will be

                Juniors: to be confirmed

                Seniors: to be confirmed

The new BJC Grading Syllabus will be used.  Appropriate Kata will need to be performed on the day by successful judoka if not pre-qualified.

The goal of these areas in holding a regional grading is to ensure that good numbers of judoka of all grades attend from a wide area. This should mean that everyone has a good attempt at grading by fighting equivalent grades.  All BJC members of the required grade are eligible to attend and make this event really successful.
